At Unusual Attitude Aviation, we believe that flying is not just about reaching a destination; it’s about the journey back to the roots of aviation. Founded by David Williams, our flight school is dedicated to empowering pilots of all levels—from student pilots to Airline Transport Pilots (ATPs)—to rediscover the art and joy of flying.

Our Philosophy

In today’s fast-paced aviation world, we’ve become more reliant on technology than ever before. With iPads cluttering cockpits and GPS systems guiding us along magenta lines, it’s easy to forget the fundamental skills that define true piloting.

Our Story

Our founder David Williams, started Unusual Attitude Aviation to help all pilots, from student pilots to ATPs, to return to thier roots of aviation. We have become more system operators then pilots. Ipads clutter the cockpit, flat screens and GPS guide us to our destinations. But can a Garmin 1000 get you out of a uninteual spin? Or slip into a field after a engine failure? That magenta line will not always be there! We will spend hours flying flying looking outside, landing on grass, doing spins or using dead reckoning to find a small grass strip to train on. Our enthusiasm for seat of the pants flying and the joys of watching pilots get back to the basics is why I started this flight school. Step Away from the Magenta and come fly with us!
